Recovered development history, 25 September 2026.
Established direction: Farmworld developed as an agricultural region that reuses older Solar Habitation Complex infrastructure; food production remains useful after more prestigious Tribunal programmes contract.
Working: former passenger transport carrying agricultural freight; civic water distribution serving irrigation; inexpensive agricultural substrate over older built systems; buried infrastructure remaining visible in later field geometry; increasing isolation from the wider Station as institutions decline.
Open: exact location and area, crops, water budget, soil depth, freight throughput, population, ownership, chronology, mechanisation and later relationship to other Station communities.
A civilisation-scale habitat contains sunk infrastructure whose original purpose can cease before the hardware becomes useless. Passenger routes can carry produce, civic water can support irrigation, and cleared or unfinished development land can become fields. Farmworld therefore emerged as opportunistic reuse rather than a clean-sheet agricultural megaproject.
Agriculture inherits the geometry beneath it. Fields, drainage, roads and settlements may follow buried service corridors, former civic grids, structural joints and old transport alignments. Reuse also creates hidden dependencies: irrigation may depend on an old civic pump, freight on a former passenger junction, or fields on drainage buried in inaccessible lower structure. Surface agricultural failures can therefore originate several infrastructure generations below.
This complements 400.20:01: asteroid-wrangling settlements may decline when Station construction stops buying, while food-producing regions can persist because demand for their product survives the construction programme.
This is development history. Fictional Farmworld documents belong in 100; specified engineering belongs in 600; external supporting evidence belongs in 700.
